About the Role
The Division Manager plays a critical leadership role focused on driving growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. Responsible for overseeing both the sales and operations teams (approximately 40 team members) this individual will lead the day-to-day execution of business priorities while shaping the long-term strategic direction of the division.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, the Division Manager will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations that meet or exceed customer expectations. This high-impact role is approximately 60% tactical and 40% strategic, requiring a hands-on leader who can balance immediate operational needs with future growth initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment and collaborates closely with the Global Corporate Senior Leadership Team to drive sustainable performance.
Travel is expected approximately 15-20%, or as business needs, to support customer and supplier engagements.
What You'll Be Doing:
Provide strong leadership and direction across all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic plan, vision, and values.
Oversee full P&L responsibility for the division, including sales, profitability, cost control, and overhead management.
Lead and manage Sales, Operations, and Production Planning while fostering strong collaboration with Quality and Continuous Improvement to ensure efficient, high-performance execution across the business.
Ensure production goals are consistently met by managing daily, weekly, and monthly output requirements to support customer demands and sales targets.
Implement and maintain effective production plans, address supply chain constraints, and oversee scheduling and staffing to maximize workforce and equipment efficiency.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to align with business objectives, track progress, and support data-driven decision-making in collaboration with the leadership team.
Provide guidance to ensure site-wide adherence to quality standards, delivery schedules, and customer satisfaction goals.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives by overseeing implementation efforts and monitoring results through business metrics and customer feedback.
Lead cost reduction and process improvement efforts to drive operational efficiency and long-term sustainability.
Support sales growth by partnering with internal teams on quotes, RFQs, and product development initiatives to meet evolving customer needs.
Lead the negotiation and execution of contracts and contractual changes, including the preparation of proposals, budgets, work statements, and financial conditions, ensuring compliance and organizational protection.
Establish and refine performance metrics and tools to assess organizational and team effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards, by implementing workplace training, safety procedures, and participating directly in project activities as a working manager.
Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with budgetary and performance goals.
Collaborate with executive leadership to establish cost-focused performance targets and direct work to achieve those targets.
What You'll Bring
Minimum of 7 years of experience in the Distribution, Metals, Aerospace, or Manufacturing industries, with a demonstrated background that includes both sales and operational roles.
At least 2 years of experience managing direct reports, with the ability to lead and support a team effectively.
Bachelor's degree preferred
Ability to travel 15-20% or as business needs
