This career step requires limited level experience. Plans, designs, or analyzes network components, infrastructure, and architecture in order to support and execute against our strategic technology goals, including both Wireline and Wireless components. Provides short- and long-term planning for access network technologies, including analysis, solution recommendations, and the implementation of said strategy.

We are seeking a Specialist OSP Design Engineer to join our Southwest Pole desk team. This role focuses on designing, planning, and managing outside plant infrastructure with a particular emphasis on coordinating pole transfers with other utility companies to support network expansion and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have expertise in OSP engineering, vendor management, and regional regulatory compliance.

  • Design and develop outside plant infrastructure, emphasizing coordination of pole transfers with other utility companies in the Southwest region.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of pole transfer and related projects.
  • Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams including construction, permitting, and regulatory to ensure compliance and smooth project execution.
  • Conduct engineering studies and analyses related to pole transfers and infrastructure modifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and engineering drawings using design tools.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders such as utility companies, municipalities, and vendors to facilitate pole transfers and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee vendor performance, including scheduling, quality control, and issue resolution to meet project milestones.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of field issues related to pole infrastructure and transfers.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Job Contribution:

Technical professional with limited experience. Working knowledge of technical principles, learning ATT technologies. Demonstrates a basic knowledge of the engineering position, design tool and databases. Has the ability to complete most types of small to medium projects. May seek guidance from peers for issues not able to resolve on their own. May include, but not limited to complex designs, process issues, and database issues.

Education:

Preferred Bachelors of Science degree in Math, Science, or Engineering.

Experience:

Typically requires 1-2 years experience. Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role.

Our Specialist OSP Design Engineer, earns between $79,200-$118,800 USD Annual not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
