Our challenge
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with over 7 years of specialized experience working on IoT devices, networking, and related security systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with Lenel security systems, DMP alarm panels, edge devices such as cameras, and a strong background in designing and managing complex IoT and network infrastructure to support security and surveillance solutions.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100k - $103k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure supporting IoT devices, Edge devices, and networking systems.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Lenel security systems, DMP alarm panels, and associated IoT devices.
- Manage network architecture, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless connectivity, ensuring secure and reliable data flow.
- Collaborate with security and facilities teams to integrate IoT devices with existing security infrastructure.
- Develop and implement strategies for device onboarding, firmware updates, and remote management.
- Monitor device health, network performance, and security, implementing proactive maintenance and improvements.
- Support incident response and troubleshooting related to IoT devices and network issues.
- Document infrastructure architecture, device configurations, and operational procedures.
- Stay updated with emerging IoT security standards, best practices, and industry trends.
Requirements:
- Over 7 years of experience working with IoT devices, networking, and security infrastructure.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Lenel access control systems and DMP alarm panels.
- Proven expertise in managing edge devices like IP cameras, sensors, and related hardware.
- Strong networking knowledge, including VLANs, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewall configuration, and wireless technologies.
- Experience with remote device management, firmware updates, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with security best practices for IoT and enterprise networks.
- Ability to design scalable, secure, and high-availability IoT solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred, but not required:
- Certifications related to networking (Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+), security (CISSP, Security+), or IoT.
- Experience with automation and scripting for device management.
- Knowledge of industry standards and compliance (e.g., UL, ISO, FCC).
