Job Description
Cost Engineer - Electrical Scope
Location: Austin, TX area preferred
Looking to plug into a high-profile, high-tech construction project? As an Electrical Cost Engineer, you'll be a key player on the project control team in managing costs for complex electrical systems-from Medium Voltage/Low Voltage power to fire alarm and telecom. You'll analyze drawings, manage change orders, and track budgets across a fast-moving build.

What You'll Do:
- Prepare and review detailed cost estimates and takeoffs for electrical systems
- Analyze drawings/specs to support cost forecasting and budgeting
- Manage change orders: pricing, substantiation, and negotiation with subs
- Track actual costs vs. budgets and update forecasts accordingly
- Support procurement with scope/pricing alignment and cost breakdowns
- Evaluate subcontractor proposals, pay apps, and change requests
- Coordinate closely with field supervisors, engineers, and schedulers
- Create and present cost performance reports to stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and client requirements
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
- 5+ years in cost engineering, estimating, or quantity surveying for electrical scopes
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction and systems (MV/LV, grounding, lighting, etc.)
- Skilled in Excel and cost management software
- Experience with contract types like Lump Sum, GMP, and Cost-plus
Bonus Points For:
- Semiconductor or industrial MEP project experience
- Bilingual (English/Korean)
