**About the Role:**
As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and repairing building system operations and the performance of various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
**What Youll Do**
Maintain and repair heat pumps, including diagnosing issues, performing corrective work orders, and ensuring optimal performance.
Conduct preventive maintenance such as filter changes and seasonal inspections to reduce system failures.
Fixing and maintaining CRAC units to ensure accurate cooling in data/server rooms.
Operate and optimize Building Automation Systems (BAS) to monitor building performance, adjust setpoints, and respond to alarms.
Perform general building maintenance across multiple trades, including,Electrical troubleshooting, Plumbing tasks (e.g., toilet plunging, minor repairs)
Support core building infrastructure including mechanical rooms, utility systems, and emergency equipment.
Prioritize and complete corrective work orders, primarily related to HVAC and general building systems.
Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Assist other trades as needed, promoting a collaborative and versatile work environment.
Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
Implement and support a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building systems.
Perform emergency repairs and ensure safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Conduct inspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure proper operation.
Apply in-depth technical knowledge to solve complex problems and provide innovative solutions.
Lead by example, coach others, and model behaviors aligned with CBRE RISE values.
**What Youll Need**
+ High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 45 years of job-related experience, or equivalent experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
+ EPA Universal Certification required to handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
+ Prior experience managing or supervising shifts is preferred.
+ Strong HVAC background, especially with heat pump systems and CRAC units.
+ Proficiency in BAS platforms.
+ Comfortable working across trades and responding to a variety of building issues.
+ Ability to meet physical demands including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying loads of 50 lbs or more.
+ Strong judgment and decision-making skills based on analysis of multiple information sources.
+ Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
+ Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.
+ Ability to perform moderately complex math calculations (percentages, fractions, financial figures).
+ Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing a high volume of work orders.
