Machine Operator - Fabrication Department Dekalb, IL Location : DeKalb, IL Job Type : Contract to Hire Shift : Training on 1st Shift Transition to 2nd Shift (Mon-Thurs, 4 PM-2:30 AM + OT Fridays) About the Role We're hiring multiple Machine Operators to support blasting and fabrication operations in a steel manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in metalwork, surface preparation, and machine operation. You will train on 1st shift until up to production speed and then move to 2nd shift. Key Responsibilities Operate abrasive blasting equipment to clean and prepare steel surfaces. Perform grinding, sanding, and material handling tasks. Conduct quality inspections and ensure product standards. Maintain equipment and workspace cleanliness. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes for material movement. Assist with CNC machine operation and general fabrication duties.
