Must be aware of all safety standards and have a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Must complete Pre-Task Planning (PTP) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Comply with OSHA safety procedures, including: Identifying jobsite safety rules. o Disposing of jobsite debris. o Sweeping jobsite floors. o Scraping jobsite floors. o Storing unused equipment and material on jobsite. o Performing a final jobsite cleanup. Inventory materials, tools and equipment at the beginning and end of shifts. Install plasterboard or other wallboard to ceiling and interior walls of building, using hand tools and portable power tools. Scribe measurements on wallboard, using straightedge and tape measure, and cut wallboard to size, using proper tools. Nail prefabricated metal pieces around windows and doors and between dissimilar materials to protect drywall edges. Attach wallboard to wall and ceiling supports. Cut out openings for electrical and other outlets, using knife or saw. Trim rough edges from wallboard to maintain even joints. May also remove plaster, drywall, or paneling during renovation project. Provide miscellaneous carpentry work, e.g., staging, formwork, stairways, temporary access. Assist with layout, inspections of work, and other functions as directed. Follow local building codes. Mix joint compound by hand with stomper or with an electric drill with beater bar. Seal joints between plasterboard or other wallboards to prepare wall surface for painting or papering. Spread and smooth cementing material over tape, using trowel or floating machine to blend joint with wall surface. Cut out and pre-fill butts and angles by hand or with mechanical applicator. Spread and smooth compound material over taped flats, butts and angles surface. Install cornerbead. Apply fish coat of compound. Sand rough spots after compound has dried. Touch up any nicks, dings, scuffs or pin holes. Apply primer to walls and ceiling preparatory to final finishing. Apply texturing compound to walls and ceiling preparatory to final finishing. Apply finish, according to following: o Select tools for application of finish coats; topcoat the embedded tape (level 2). o Apply second coat of compound over level 2 (level 3). o Apply third coat of compound over level 3 (level 4). o Sand the drywall compound to accept paint. o Skim coat the entire wall (level 5). Clean up all excessive spills of compound on floors. Maintain tools and equipment, including: o Performing routine tool maintenance. o Inspecting tools for damage. o Tagging and reporting damaged tools for repair. o Cleaning tools and equipment. o Lubricating tools and equipment. o Storing tools to prevent damage or theft. Stock materials as required. Other duties, as assigned. Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), weekends, and holidays. Employee will be compensated based on guidelines in the Fair Labor Standards Act. QUALIFICATIONS 1-3 years required for this position. Ability to work without supervision. Good math skills. Must be profcient in blueprint reading, layout, marking and arranging material. Must have the ability to measure, cut, ft and fasten drywall panels to the inside framework of buildings. Have ability to use stilts and/or ability to work on scaffolding. Must be able to use a variety of hand tools such as screw guns, power drills and routers etc., in conjunction with proper training. Ability to conduct strenuous work requiring standing, climbing, bending and lifting. Must have knowledge of industrial standards. Possess current driver's license. Good problem-solving skills - able to analyze problems and make sound decisions. Ability to operate/willingness to learn how to operate a scissor lift. Ability to assemble/willingness to learn how to assemble scaffolding. Must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol testing.
