Position Summary-
Advocate and support the Corporate WIN Strategy by managing department/shift leaders to ensure that department expectations in regard to facilities and equipment maintenance and crib functions are met.
This role has supervisory responsibilities up to 50 employees. Supervisory responsibility includes, but is not limited to training and developing subordinates, delegating work assignments, writing and conducting performance appraisals, coaching and counseling employees, and administering disciplinary procedures. Will interact with employees at all levels of the organization and with outside contacts
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct work activity of Maintenance and Crib Leaders. Motivate and empower subordinates. Develop subordinates including, but not limited to, constructing and executing development plans.
- Review maintenance history in order to troubleshoot facility and equipment issues and to maintain a predictive and proactive approach to systems. Gather and analyze data concerning facility and equipment specifications, company or government restrictions and ensure that guidelines are adhered to.
- Oversee complex planning, design, reconfiguration, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Design layouts for machinery, building and equipment. Develop and recommend changes in facilities management systems and procedures.
- Review, analyze, and estimate design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials and other related costs. Direct contractor firms to coordinate equipment movement, new construction, repairs, and electrical and telecommunication distribution systems.
- Implement policies, procedures and training to comply with safety and environmental programs. Coordinate changes in physical facilities to meet changing or new safety and environmental requirements. Interpret federal and state laws, regulations, and company policy as they apply to facility planning. Investigate and resolve compliance problems and maintain required documentation.
- Develop effective cost control programs by overseeing machine capabilities and implementing machine improvements to increase productivity. Actively support lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Monitor department expenses and operate within department budget(s).
- Perform safety evaluations of facilities interior and exterior. Participate in Safety Committee meetings. Investigates issues and notifies appropriate personnel of problems.
- Administer and ensure compliance of company policies. Investigate and document employee related issues. Counsel employees and issue corrective action.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years hand on maintenance including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC.
- Two years supervisory experience with demonstrated effectiveness or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Ability to work on and solve a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity in imaginative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams.
- The incumbent must have ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Proficient computer skills with Word, Excel and database required.
- Must have demonstrated leadership abilities to effectively work with people in a team environment.
- Must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
