Transportation Estimator

We are seeking a dedicated Transportation Estimator skilled in analyzing and estimating scopes including earthwork, roadway, utilities, concrete flatwork, and concrete structures. The ideal candidate will be proficient in deep foundations and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring all project estimates are accurate and comprehensive.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand drawings, specifications, and proposals.
• Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for projects.
• Review takeoff quantities to ensure accuracy used in estimates.
• Perform necessary calculations to ensure all estimated costs are accurate and current.
• Cost out bid items using a detailed activity breakdown structure.
• Perform takeoff of necessary labor, equipment, and material to ensure a high-quality and timely estimate.
• Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors to ensure competitive bids and insight into market forecasts.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers and contractors within the specified time frame.
• Prepare and lead bid reviews with management.
• Prepare and submit quotations and details of costs for work to be done.

• 5+ years of estimating experience, including 2+ years in transportation estimating.
• Experience with ODOT.
• Proficiency in Heavy Bid (HCSS).

• Strong analytical skills to assess project requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for preparing and presenting bid reviews.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with contractors and vendors.

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
