The Painter performs painting or powder coating of various components for a manufacturing plant. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to pass a background check Must be able to pass a drug test Pass the Work Steps physical exam at the Heavy level Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32 Ability to read and understand engineering drawings Possesses knowledge of PPE compliance Knowledge using shop math Ability to be trained to drive a forklift and to operate various cranes and hoists ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Paints or powder-coats all types of components. Ensures proper settings for paint line speed and oven temperature. Cleans and maintains paint equipment. Maintains high levels of productivity and quality. Continuously uses initiative to seek additional work. Performs other duties as instructed by management. Applies paint or powder-coat to specified thickness, using different types of paint on different types of material using air powered equipment or other. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two (2) year(s) related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is primarily performed in an office/warehouse setting. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, occasionally above head. Regularly required to twist at the waist, climb and descend stairs while carrying objects. Ability to speak and hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. Works near moving mechanical parts. Regularly exposed to general office and general office machinery noise. May be exposed to warehouse, truck or forklift noise.
