Summary We are seeking a Design Engineer with 3+ years of experience in construction, structural, or architectural environments. This hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 remote) is based in Illinois, with relocation support available for the right candidate. Ideal applicants will hold a PE or SE license; however, we are open to discussing entry-level candidates with an FE certification. Experience with precast concrete is a major advantage. The project portfolio includes precast walls for Amazon distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, parking structures, office buildings, and large data centers . Responsibilities Apply engineering design methodologies to real-world construction and structural challenges Utilize in-house engineering software, CAD, and BIM tools for design and documentation Perform design of structural components and connections, including 3D finite element modeling Contribute to 3D modeling of full structures under guidance from senior staff Prepare engineering documents and collaborate across technical teams Manage tasks and possibly oversee junior staff on select projects Maintain high quality control by reviewing and back-checking work Support sales and conceptual design modeling when needed Preferred Skills and Expertise Education & Licensure: Bachelors in Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred) PE or SE license in the State of Illinois strongly preferred FE certification considered for entry-level candidates Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of structural analysis/design, 3D finite element analysis, diaphragm systems, and load analysis (wind, snow, seismic) Familiar with structural integrity requirements and applicable building/material codes Skilled in software tools such as: CAD/BIM: AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla or equivalents Engineering: RAM Suite, RISA, TEDDS, LEC Wall or equivalents Office: Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe/Bluebeam Soft Skills & Attributes: Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to interpret technical documents and directions Organized, self-managing, and capable of overseeing staff with minimal supervision Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying current with code and design standards Work Environment: Able to work extended hours at a computer Comfortable in job site environments and manufacturing plants with exposure to varying weather and conditions The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $130,000k. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
