Description

Summary

Coordinates and performs tasks as a journeyman level electrician and is responsible for ensuring that the electrical systems and components are properly maintained and operated. Installs and removes electrical equipment and components. Implements modifications to increase the efficiency of the electrical system. Ensures that the facility electrical equipment and systems are properly operated and maintained in an as-new condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

All non-utility power and electrical systems located on the property.

Ensures that all systems and components comply with the National Electrical Code (NFPA).

Installs circuits and components as needed while ensuring that loads remain balanced.

Reviews and assists in mitigating hazards associated with shutdowns and lockouts.

Ensures that the backup emergency electrical systems are maintained and functional at all times.

Performs work required for the repair, maintenance, installation, and modernization of electrical systems for buildings, equipment and grounds.

Performs work of a skilled variety demanding a high degree of manual and technical competency. Locates, troubleshoots and corrects electrical problems as they arise.

Records all modifications and installations on as-builts.

Repairs malfunctions by such methods as replacing burned out elements, fuses, and replacing defective wiring, cleaning and repairing motors.

Tests electrical equipment, such as, motors, heaters, and controls for safety and efficiency, using standard test equipment and by observing functions.

Installs fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment.

Inspects circuits for approved shielding and grounding.

Coordinates scheduled projects with Assistant Facilities Manager and other departments to insure that projects are completed efficiently and do not interfere with routine maintenance and operations.

Makes recommendations to the Facilities Manager for improvements

Plans, directs, and supervises the purchasing of supplies, equipment, and services.

Keeps informed on federal and state rules and regulations affecting the facility.

Outlines, prioritizes, and participates in maintenance projects.

Orders equipment and materials for maintenance projects.

Works with Facilities Director and Facilities Manager to ensure the proper use of building systems and equipment with an emphasis on safety.

Assigns time and cost to tasks and projects. Follows up on projects to determine accuracy and to insure that quality requirements have been met.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age.

Valid California Driver's License.

Slip Resistant Shoes.

Certified Electrician

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Have good communication and public relation skills. A thorough technical knowledge of building electrical systems and equipment. Be familiar with building and building equipment preventative maintenance procedures. Able to provide materials and labor cost related to specific projects. Knowledgeable in safety procedures related to all work performed. Proficient in plan reading and able to interpret manufacturer's literature and manuals as they pertain to the building electrical systems, components, and equipment.

Education and/or Experience

Ten or more years experience as a journeyman level electrician required. Must have demonstrated extensive experience as a journeyman level electrician in a casino environment.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, chemical data sheets, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. The candidate should be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and supervisors and have the ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. The candidate should have the ability to concepts such as fractions, percentage, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Should be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Gaming License issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission. Valid California Driver's License. Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino. Certified Electrician
