Job Description

Job Title: Superintendent - Commercial Fencing

Location: Canton, GA

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Operations Manager / Project Manager

We are a leading commercial fencing contractor with over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality perimeter security solutions. Our projects range from municipal and industrial fencing to large-scale commercial developments. We're seeking a dedicated Superintendent to oversee field operations and ensure our projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget.

Position Summary:

The Superintendent will lead all on-site activities for fencing projects, ensuring quality workmanship, adherence to specifications, and coordination with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. This role demands strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations at multiple job sites

Coordinate crews, subcontractors, and material deliveries

Ensure compliance with project plans, specs, safety standards, and quality requirements

Conduct job site inspections and enforce safety protocols (OSHA compliance)

Schedule work activities and monitor progress to meet deadlines

Communicate regularly with Project Managers regarding schedules, issues, and updates

Address any on-site issues that may impact productivity or safety

Verify fence layout, elevation, and measurements per plans

Complete daily field reports and timecards

Train, coach, and supervise field employees

Conduct pre-construction and progress meetings as needed

Manage site equipment and tool inventory

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in commercial fencing or related construction field

2+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role

Strong knowledge of fence types (chain link, ornamental, security, crash-rated, etc.)

Proficient in reading blueprints and site plans

Solid understanding of construction safety and OSHA requirements

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Ability to multitask and manage time effectively across multiple job sites

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions

Lift up to 75 lbs

Stand, bend, and walk for extended periods
