You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN LEADER in the ???????PRODUCTION DIVISION, PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Troubleshooting difficult problems in electrical systems, fixtures and controls circuits to identify problems and repair; 2) Interpreting blueprints, electrical diagrams, and equipment manuals in an effort troubleshoot various electrical circuits; 3) Installing dry type electrical transformers up to 750KVA making the primary and secondary connections; 4) Installing, repairing, and troubleshooting line voltage motor starters of all sizes and voltages up to 600 Volts; 5) Installing switches, receptacles, and lights fixtures in commercial and industrial building settings; 6) Operating a variety of electrical test equipment such as multimeter, megohmmeter, circuit tracer, phase rotation meter, circuit analyzer, data logger, and various other test equipment; 7) Performing new and old electrical work in residential, commercial, and industrial settings; and 8) Instructing coworkers on new skills and identifying training needs of the electrical workforce.
