Cost Accountant

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our finance team and help support the integrity and efficiency of our operations.

What Youll Do

As a Cost Accountant, you will play a key role in monitoring and improving cost controls within our turf manufacturing and installation operations. Reporting to the Plant Controller, youll be responsible for accurate job costing, analyzing excess and obsolete inventory, and supporting monthly financial reporting. Youll collaborate across departments to troubleshoot issues, provide insights, and support broader financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage job costing processes for high-volume turf installation projects.
• Perform reporting duties, including analysis of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Prepare property tax submissions and support related audits or reviews.
• Complete account reconciliations and prepare journal entries as needed.
• Support the annual budget process with detailed cost analysis and inputs.
• Provide ad hoc financial reporting and analysis to support operational decisions.
• Investigate and resolve system or costing discrepancies in coordination with relevant teams.
• Work cross-functionally with production, logistics, and project teams to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.

What You Bring

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 35 years of experience in a financial analyst, staff accountant, or cost accountant role.
• Previous experience in project accounting or a manufacturing environment is a strong asset.

Skills & Systems:

• Solid understanding of the full accounting cycle.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the MS Office Suite.
• ERP experience required; Syspro experience preferred.
