Job Title: Civil/Structural Engineer 3 (Analysis)
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Civil/Structural Engineer 3 (Analysis) opportunity with our client that is fully remote.
Job Description:
Candidates should possess a strong analytical background in structural analysis, structural dynamics, and earthquake engineering, and be proficient in finite element analysis methods.
Job Description:
Uses structural engineering tools and implements appropriate standards to analyze, design, and review Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures, including linear and nonlinear structural analyses for various material types (concrete, steel, etc).
Interacts with other disciplines and structural engineering consultants in an effort to allow effective coordination of design activities and resolution of technical problems. Individuals should possess or acquire general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields in order to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
Develops requirements documents, design specifications, design reports, and studies.
Possesses strong written and oralmunication skills and routinely interacts with contractors and/or regulatory bodies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
A minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university is required. An advanced degree is preferred. A registered professional engineer license (P.E.) is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of full-time, nuclear/non-nuclear experience as a Structural Analysis Engineer is required. Additional experience in the following areas is also required:
Analysis and design of structures, including concrete and steel, using finite element analysis and structural design software.
Concrete, steel, and foundation structural analysis and design.
Working knowledge of the following codes: ASCE 43, ASCE 4, ACI 349 & 318, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC N690, Steel Construction Manual, and Seismic Design Manual.
Working knowledge of the following software: ANSYS. Experience with SAP2000 and SASSI is preferred.
Computer programming skills (e.g, Python and Matlab) is not required, but preferred.
Use of typical office software.
