This position allows for a hybrid arrangement with a mix of work from home and in the office. Depending on your location, this opportunity offers a generous relocation package.
This is a senior-level design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Civil/Structural Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.
- Support Civil and/or Structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team.
- Under supervision, responsible for production of engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and engineering reports. Ensure that calculations and deliverables are technically sound and in accordance with project requirements
- Apply civil and structural engineering principles to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components.
- Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs
- Mentor junior engineers
Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
Essential skills and experience:
- Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
- BSCE, BSSE, or BSME degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; MS degree preferred
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in civil and structural engineering
- Experience with producing engineering designs for foundations, structures, and support structures
- Familiarity with design codes such as ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC
- Familiarity with structural analysis software such as ANSYS or SAP2000 or equivalent
Valued but not required skills and experience:
- P.E. license
- Multiple years of experience in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial or Navy), highly desirable
- Structural Engineering (SE) Licensure
- Field Engineering and Construction Experience

Sargent & Lundys Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering design and consulting support to the management and operating contractors for US Department of Energy (DOE) sites and national laboratories. Specifically, we support the DOE Environmental Management Directorate as well as the National Nuclear Security Administration laboratories and sites. What does this mean?
