What You'll Do:
As an Engineering Designer/Drafter, you will directly impact the creation, development and management of detailed technical drawings and plans for engineering projects and document repository. You will create detailed multi-disciplinary technical drawings and plans for engineering projects in collaboration with our stakeholders. As part of the role, you will interface with outside engg companies for establishing and maintaining quality requirements for document management system for Deer Park, TX site. The Engineering Designer/Drafter will manage the common repository for those drawings and plans including drawings, assembly instructions, bills of materials, engineering calculations, specifications sheets and other data.
What Were Looking For:
- Strong hands-on experience on field technical drafting and document system management skills in chemical/petrochemical industry environment.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and work in a team environment.
- Design, develop, maintain 2D/3D drawing files/records/databases for entire Deer Park facility.
- Ability to look for deviations and constantly upkeep the plant as built documentation.
- Ability to prepare engineering design drawings for mechanical, piping,electrical and instrumentation from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specifications and rough layouts.
- Ability to understand industry best practices and adopt in drafting/ documentation.
- Attention to details and ability to think through in providing service to stake holders from front end planning to project close out.
- Communicate with the diverse and cross functional stakeholder community.
- Work with a global team in remote places and collaborate as needed.
- Ability to train and mentor in drafting and documentation.
- The ability to keep up the drafting skills on pace with the industry developments and lead by example.
- Ability to juggle on multiple projects and assignments without losing focus on the priority.
Skills that Make a Difference:
- Associate degree in drafting design or demonstrated equivalent industry experience in the area of drafting and document control in lieu of a Associate degree.
- 5+ years of hand's on working experience drafting and engineering design in industrial contexts (chemical manufacturing), project design and delivery through to construction.
- Experience working within cross functional project teams on multiple projects, with greater responsibility technically and/or in higher value projects.
- Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, and design/drafting software programs (Autodesk suite; AutoCAD, Revit, Blue beam, 3D modeling, number generator, documentation management) and SharePoint
- Experience in teaching and training people on drafting and document control practices.
- Experience in Emerson DeltaV control system hardware and input/output system
