Job Description The Civil Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting all areas of civil design from concept development through to final construction documents. This position involves working on site development projects, including parking lots, roadways, utilities, storm/sewer systems, and grading plans. Collaboration with architects and MEP groups is essential for successful project completion. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and be ready to contribute effectively from the start. Responsibilities
- Support design and production on civil engineering projects.
- Prepare documents that conform to company standards and quality control requirements.
- Design, engineer, and detail a broad range of project types.
- Demonstrate experience with both public and private projects.
- Work within budgets and meet schedules and client expectations.
- Serve external clients by effectively collaborating with internal teams.
- Coordinate work with architects, engineers, designers, and technical personnel.
- Participate in internal and external design charrettes and presentations.
- Engage with the local engineering community.
- Seek guidance and mentorship from senior staff and the Director of Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- 5+ years of experience in site civil design, including grading, parking lots, storm/sewer systems, roadways, and underground utilities.
- At minimum, an Associate's degree in civil engineering, CAD, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
- EIT certification or ability to get licensed.
- Experience with Microstation.
- Ability to perform site and roadway material take-offs and cost estimating.
- Experience in writing technical summaries, comment dispositions, and charrette reports.
