Construction Superintendent
Job Description

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the safe completion of projects within budget, on schedule, adhering to quality standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The role involves overseeing safety compliance, craft supervision, production, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, material handling, daily reporting, quality control, and craft training.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure job safety by integrating safety into job planning and execution, promoting accountability among staff and subcontractors, and actively participating in safety-related functions.
  • Maintain quality control on the project, both for the company and subcontractors, and report repetitive quality issues to upper management.
  • Develop and implement pre-job plans, make necessary course corrections, and create material handling and site utilization plans.
  • Participate in project scheduling to ensure compliance with job planning.
  • Complete specific tasks assigned in pre-job planning sessions.
  • Coordinate and supervise all company workforces on the project, including hiring and firing hourly paid personnel.
  • Develop Assistant Superintendents, Coordinators, Engineers, Foremen, and craft persons.
  • Conduct personnel evaluation, development, and retention, and recommend promotions, transfers, or terminations based on project needs.
  • Coordinate and schedule all subcontractors and hold weekly scheduling meetings with subcontractor foremen.
  • Develop forms detailing special construction methods for job efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping and cost records, study labor recaps and cost controls to identify areas needing attention.
  • Expedite vendors and subcontractors on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Ensure material received is properly inspected for quantity and quality, and that receiving tickets are signed, coded, and submitted.
  • Review equipment needs with supervisors.
  • Participate in Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings to ensure owners are aware of schedule changes and potential conflicts.
  • Be sensitive to special requirements of customers or neighbors to ensure satisfactory relations.
  • Maintain project logs.
Essential Skills
  • Experience managing or overseeing installation of low voltage building systems.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in Electrical / Low Voltage Systems.
  • Supervision of Communications Systems Installation.
  • Supervision of Outside / Inside Plant Cabling Installation.
  • Supervision of Structured Cabling Systems Installation.
  • Credentials such as PMP or BICSI - RTPM (Certified Technology Project Manager).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • BICISI Certified Cable Installer, RCDD Registered Designer.
  • Experience as a Security Systems Integrator, Audio Visual Systems Integrator, Communication System Integrator.
  • Bachelors degree in construction management, Engineering, or Business.
  • Professional accreditations including DBIA, LEED.
Work Environment

The position involves working on large Meta Data Center projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
