Journeyman Electrician - Hou -Southwest Houston (Sugar Land, Stafford)

Duties and Responsibilities

Journeyman Electrician work in just about any type of residential/commercial building/warehouse where they are required to utilize a broad range of electrical skills and common sense. Here is a list of duties and responsibilities

Lays out work and prepares materials for installation
Install and mount all sorts of lights fixtures/ceiling fan
Performs underground layout and rough-in
Determines wire and conduit sizing
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders
Installs and connects power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints
Performs switchgear installation and terminations
Troubleshoots and resolves problems in electrical circuits, systems, panels and equipment.
Operates hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks
Perform standby generator/ATS installation
Commercial/Residential build out Rough in and Trim out
Perform Smart Devices (RING, NEST, etc) installation for residential home
Perform residential/commercial service calls
Perform/lead commercial build out from the ground up
As directed by Master, may load, transport, unload, and furnish with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies
Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary
May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials during installation
Adhere to all quality and safety codes
Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by super
Lead apprentice electrician in projects
Abilities/Knowledge

Follow oral and written instructions
Work effectively with other staff members (work in a team environment)
Work effectively with the public and customers
Handle and prioritize multiple tasks (Detail Oriented)
Analyze situations and adopt effective courses of action
Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints and manuals
Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools
Follow specific directions; perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy; repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure; evaluate information using measurable standards.
Physically, technician must be able to: Stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and see (naturally or with correction).

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

US Citizen/Legally to work in the US
Be willing to submit to Background check and Drug Test
TDLR Journeyman License Required
Valid Texas Drivers License
High school diploma preferred
Excellent Customer Service Skills
Maintains professional appearance (Clean Cut)/attitude at all times
Attention to detail coupled with excellent organization skills
Must be able to multitask and prioritize on a daily basis
Minimum 4 years of experience as electrician
Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8:30AM 5:30PM
