Job Description
Position Summary:
The HVAC Technician performs maintenance and repairs on medium to large HVAC systems and controls. This role ensures high-quality service, safe work practices, and professional customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including RTUs, heat pumps, DX systems, and control systems
- Diagnosing equipment failures and using the appropriate tools to test parts and components
- Disassembling and reassembling parts as needed, making repairs to restore systems to full function
- Complete preventive maintenance and inspections per service agreements
- Document work using mobile technologies and follow customer-specific protocols (eg, IVR systems, work order logs)
- Maintain clean and professional appearance of self, tools, vehicle, and jobsite
- Communicate work status regularly with service coordinators
- Attend required meetings and training sessions
- Adhere to all safety and company policies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- State Journeyman or Master License (Required)
- EPA 608 Universal Certification (Required)
- 3+ years of HVAC service experience
- Familiarity with BOCA Code and OSHA regulations
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Customer-focused, self-motivated, and reliable
- Flexible to work variable shifts, including nights/weekends/overtime
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; occasional heavy lifting up to 80 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders/stairs
- Capable of wearing all required PPE
- Work at heights and in varied environmental conditions
Work Environment:
Work is performed in commercial or industrial settings including rooftops, mechanical rooms, and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, chemicals, and moving equipment.
