Senior Project Civil Engineer Experience:

• Bachelors degree in engineering plus 7+ years of experience
• Registered professional engineer (P.E.)
• Prepare construction plans, estimates, specifications, and bid documents for roadway and highway projects for MDOT and local municipalities according to applicable agency standards
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Senior Project Civil Engineer Responsibilities:

• Identifying prospective clients and taking an active or lead role in the proposal process.
• Acting as project manager on major complex projects.
• Estimating time and hour budgets for projects, and meeting those budgets.
• The technical accuracy of projects.
• Assisting clients, as required, in the selection of contractors.
• Assisting clients, as required, in monitoring the performance of contracts.
• Maintaining a good relationship with the client, after the project is finished, to ensure securing future work.
• Supervision of Project Engineers and other staff assigned to project team(s).
• Providing estimates of project staffing requirements.
• Development of performance specifications for non-standard items required for projects.
