We are seeking a Project Manager/Estimator to lead our construction team and oversee the successful planning and execution of a variety of construction projects. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. This role includes managing budgeting, scheduling, organization, implementation, and, where applicable, design coordination.
Project Manager/Estimator Responsibilities and Duties :
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safety of employees and subcontractors by enforcing company safety policies and programs.
- Exercise authority to stop work for actual or suspected safety violations.
Project Estimating & Planning
- Lead or assist in project estimating as discipline or lead estimator.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical requirements for field staff.
- Develop and maintain project schedules aligned with budgets.
- Prepare and maintain site logistics plans with Superintendent staff.
Contract & Legal Management
- Fully understand contract terms, including both organizational and owner obligations.
- Issue timely notices to owner regarding changes, delays, or additional work.
- Manage claims in coordination with management and Legal Department.
Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, designers, and consultants.
- Chair meetings with project teams, owners, and subcontractors.
Subcontractor & Vendor Management
- Hire subcontractors/vendors, including negotiations, sub agreements, and purchase orders.
- Manage subcontractor/vendor schedule, performance, and payments.
Staff Coordination
- Manage and coordinate onsite staff.
- Coordinate with Division Manager and Project Managers for optimal use of field staff and equipment.
Financial Oversight
- Manage project budget using companys cost control systems.
- Compile financial, schedule, and production reports for Division Manager.
- Prepare and coordinate owner payments and ensure timely payments to subs/suppliers.
Project Execution & Documentation
- Ensure delivery of quality product aligned with project standards.
- Handle project submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and field instructions.
- Prepare and administer RFIs, non-conformance reports, and field instructions.
Project Manager/Estimator Experience and Requirements :
- 8+ years of extensive experience managing construction projects.
- Deep understanding of Lump Sum, Design-Build, and CMGC contract models.
- Exceptional knowledge of the construction industry.
- Strong math, accounting, and estimating skills.
- Solid understanding of financial operations and corporate cost control.
- Proven leadership qualities with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Quick decision-maker who consistently meets deadlines and delivers on commitments.
