Job Summary

Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the position is responsible for operating plant equipment associated with the loader system.

Job Description

What you'll do:

  • Operates the loader system.
  • Maintain logs and electronic records as directed.
  • Test equipment that has been removed from service during the Lock & Tag procedures.
  • Inspect, check, clean, and service the conveyors and other similar equipment that he/she operates.
  • Use common hand tools, water hoses, and other items to clean conveyor and transfer stations, buildings, and etc.
  • Carry out assignments in training for and performing first aid and fire fighting.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with operating instructions, safety regulations, and current practices.
  • Report irregularities and abnormal conditions to a supervisor.
  • Write job orders as necessary.
  • Instruct and direct other employees assigned to assist in the work.
  • Communicate and comprehend instructions effectively in order to follow direction from supervisors and also give instructions to co-workers involved in specific tasks.
  • Operates automotive equipment as assigned.
  • Assists in the training of other employees.
  • Takes scale readings and records those readings.
  • Communicate information effectively to other employees including but not limited to the use of radio systems, P.A. systems, phones, work order system, and job related check sheets and forms.
  • Learn all applicable operating instructions and procedures.
  • Work effectively with other employees.
  • Learn the rules, safety practices, and procedures applicable to the work.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • High school diploma and/or GED equivalency.
  • Must be able to pass an examination, and/or demonstration, if required.

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: H Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
