UTILITY PLANT MECHANIC (Multiple Opportunities)

Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and operation of wastewater lift stations, re-pumping facilities, as well as water/wastewater facility infrastructure. Responsible for the skilled repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components and equipment. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel-operated pumps and generators. The work is performed in accordance with scheduled preventative maintenance work orders and from reports of assignments resulting either from daily inspections or from the immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of one (1) year of experience in utilities plant equipment repair, or industrial mechanical and electrical repair work.
PREFERENCE FOR: Experience with lift station and/or pump repair; two (2) or more years of previous experience in utility mechanical equipment repair; electrical certification/license; experience with Maximo or other computerized work order systems (must specify on application); Florida Water and Pollution Control Operator Association (FWPCOA) Treatment Plant Operator Certification; experience operating pumps, motors and related plant equipment; experience working from sketches, blueprints and schematics.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Respiratory screen/chest x-ray and Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.
