The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is seeking a full-time Fabricator to apply their varied knowledge and skills-with woodworking principles at the core-towards the prototyping, fabrication, and production of a variety of exhibit components in support of delivering high quality, interactive exhibits and experiences. This position is expected to run October 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension dependent on confirmed projects and VP approval.
Qualified candidates will have, but not limited to:
- 3 years experience in a shop environment or similar production house
- Demonstrated knowledge of finish carpentry/cabinet-making skills/woodworking
- Ability to work safely and an understanding of shop safety protocols
- Ability to produce quality products in a production environment
- Ability to work on multiple projects in different phases of development
- Ability to model and support a positive team dynamic with people from diverse talents and backgrounds, with an emphasis on team-based collaboration and product evaluation
The Fabricator has an hourly pay of $26.97, and is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes:
