Project Superintendent

A Long Island City-based general contractor is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on infrastructure and site civil projects across NYC. The ideal candidate has experience overseeing utility-heavy scopes, managing subcontractors onsite, and driving work forward with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day field operations across multiple job sites

• Coordinate subcontractors, laborers, and suppliers to meet project timelines

• Oversee installation of site utilities (storm, sanitary, water), sidewalks, paving, and landscaping

• Ensure compliance with DOB, DOT, and other NYC agencies

• Enforce safety protocols and maintain clean, secure job sites

• Collaborate with project management on scheduling, inspections, and documentation

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman in heavy civil/site work

• Proven ability to manage complex field operations in NYC

• Experience with underground utilities, streetscapes, and/or public-sector work

• Strong knowledge of NYC construction safety and permitting requirements

• Comfortable working across boroughs and overseeing multiple trades
