About the role
As a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing the organization's virtual desktop environments. Leveraging your expertise in VMware VDI, Windows, and Citrix technologies, you will ensure seamless operations, enhance user experience, and support scalable remote access solutions. You will be a valued member of the Infrastructure Services team and work collaboratively with our Senior Cloud Architect.
In this role, you will
- Manage and optimize the virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) to ensure reliable performance and a seamless user experience.
- Implement and maintain VMware VDI solutions aligned with business needs.
- Configure and administer Windows environments for stability, security, and compliance.
- Deploy and manage Citrix VAD and Citrix Cloud to support secure remote access.
- Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve VDI and Windows-related issues.
- Monitor system performance and apply improvements to enhance efficiency and resource utilization.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and internal teams.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with organizational security policies and best practices.
Work model

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Columbus, Ohio or Jersey City, New Jersey. What you need to have to be considered
- Extensive experience in designing, deploying, and managing VMware VDI environments.
- Strong proficiency in configuring and maintaining Windows Server and Desktop systems.
- Hands-on experience with Citrix VAD and Citrix Cloud platforms.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Solid understanding of security best practices, compliance standards, and data protection principles.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until August 19, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $91,000 - $107,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
