Job Description
SUMMARY
A dual credit faculty member's primary responsibility is to design and create learning opportunities that maximize dual credit student success.
Requirement: At time of application, Dual Credit Faculty applicant must be actively employed with a partnering, local school district as a full-time high school teacher.
As per Board Policy 4115, ...dual credit faculty are employed on an as needed basis, non-contractual, at will, basis with no expectation of continued employment or property rights beyond the semester assignment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assess learner abilities and student performance; provides feedback to assist dual credit students in attaining learning competencies and course objectives stated in the section outline
Designs and implements learning options in a variety of formats that are appropriate to reach dual credit students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds and learning styles
Creates and distributes to dual credit students a section outline based on the master syllabi for the course
Provides content expertise and individual assistance to dual credit students
Gives input to chair and dual credit faculty in the continuous quality improvement process through ongoing program evaluation including course materials, instructional strategies, learning resources, and the use of technology
Participates in department/division meetings to facilitate communication and provide continuity of instruction district-wide
Participates in faculty evaluation and orientation/professional development programs such as Dual Credit Faculty Professional Development Day at the beginning of fall/spring semesters, complete Developing Excellence in Learning and Teaching Academy (DELTA) Online Academy.
Maintains and submits all records required by regulatory agencies
As per Board Policy EAB, Dual Credit Faculty teaching dual credit courses must complete the College's Instructional Continuity Training.
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 2. Must be able to provide official transcripts and/if transcripts are earned from a foreign teaching institution, then must be able to provide an evaluation indicating that this education is equivalent to or beyond the qualifications required This evaluation must be from an approved evaluation service
3. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent interpersonal skills
4. Excellent organizational skills
5. Commitment to the community college philosophy of education

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, class assignments and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to students and respond to questions from individuals as well as groups of students and chairs/directors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
