Position Description
Job Summary:
The Grinder Operator is responsible for performing cutting, drilling, and sawing of concrete on highways, roads, commercial buildings, and other structures. This role involves hands-on work at construction sites, requiring physical stamina and adherence to safety regulations. The Technician plays a critical role in preparing and maintaining job sites, ensuring efficient project execution, and supporting demolition activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Operate specialized equipment to cut, drill, and saw concrete efficiently and safely.
* Prepare construction sites by organizing materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
* Remove debris and maintain cleanliness of the job site after project completion.
* Assemble and dismantle barricades, scaffolding, and temporary structures.
* Assist with demolition and site preparation activities.
* Travel to various job locations as scheduled by dispatch.
* Follow and enforce all safety guidelines, including OSHA, DOT, and Penhall standards.
* Adhere to alcohol and drug-free workplace requirements.

Required Skills and Abilities:
* Proficiency in operating concrete cutting, drilling, and sawing equipment.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
* Knowledge of construction safety protocols and regulations.

* Physical Stamina: Capability to perform physically demanding tasks under various weather conditions.

* Technical Proficiency: Skilled in operating and maintaining construction equipment.
Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Experience in construction, demolition, or a related field preferred.
* Certification in OSHA safety standards or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Capability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
* Tolerance for prolonged periods of standing and repetitive movements.
* Comfortable working outdoors in loud, dusty, and all-weather conditions.
* Adequate visual and auditory acuity to operate machinery safely.
