Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team on construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various heavy machinery and equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency in all operations. This role requires a strong understanding of construction management software and the ability to read and interpret schematics. The Equipment Operator will play a vital role in building and managing projects from start to finish.
Duties
Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders on construction sites.
Ensure the safe operation of machinery while adhering to all safety protocols.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to understand project requirements.
Utilize construction management software, including ProCore and HeavyBid, for project tracking and reporting.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to assist in project execution.
Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections and minor repairs as needed.
Assist in the planning and scheduling of equipment usage to optimize workflow.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations on-site.
Qualifications
Crew Management: Supervising and coordinating the work of excavation crews, including training and mentoring junior staff and equipment operators
Able to operate various types of heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders and dozers.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and contract documents.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills such as ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting while managing individual responsibilities.
Commitment to safety practices and procedures on the job site. Maintaining a safe work environment and conducting regular safety meetings.
