Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with most types of excavation machinery and a strong mechanical knowledge base. This role is essential in ensuring that construction projects are completed safely and efficiently. The Lead Equipment Operator will work primarily on construction sites, operating heavy machinery, and assisting in managing other heavy equipment operators to complete various tasks to support project completion.
Responsibilities
Operate an Komatsu 360 and our other excavation machinery, including loaders, skid steers, mini excavators and aggregate screening equipment.
Skillfully operate excavators, loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks, and aggregate screening equipment as needed for construction tasks.
Ensure all equipment is in good working condition through regular inspections and maintenance.
Collaborate with team members on construction sites to ensure smooth operations and adherence to safety protocols.
Assist in building structures as required by project specifications.
Follow all safety guidelines while operating machinery to prevent accidents or injuries on site.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Skills
Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment.
Experience with commercial driving is preferred for transporting materials between job sites.
Ability to read and build from blueprints and to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining a focus on safety and quality standards.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors effectively.
Physical stamina and strength to handle the demands of operating heavy machinery throughout the workday.
