About the job
We are looking for an experienced Senior Architectural Designer . As an Senior Architectural Designer, you'll work with our discerning clients to design and plan residential remodels, additions and custom-built homes from initial concept to construction completion. Many projects will also include interior design work such as custom lighting, window treatments, furniture and other furnishings.
Responsibilities
Serve as primary client contact from project kick-off through delivery
Understand client needs and constraints and collaborate with clients to develop compelling design options and select the plan that will best meet their goals
Work with IKB team and subcontractors to create and present realistic cost estimates and schedules for the proposed design plan(s)
Help clients select and specify key materials, finishes and furnishings and plan the sequence and/or phases of the project(s) to best meet their needs
Engage with engineers and other design professionals to achieve project goals
Engage with City/County building and planning professionals to understand and meet requirements and secure permits and approvals
Prepare comprehensive construction drawings and specifications
Manage the quoting, bidding, ordering and subcontractor contracting work
Work with finish subcontractors to communicate and adapt the construction plans to site conditions while maintaining the integrity of the design
Coordinate the resolution of any client or project issues throughout the engagement
Qualifications
Very strong architectural design and interior design knowledge and skills
Working knowledge of residential construction, codes and permitting
Proficient with drafting and use of CAD tools, ideally VectorWorks
Top-notch teamwork and communication skills
Passion for residential design and creating beautiful homes
Ability to manage multiple client engagements and projects and use basic office software (sheets, docs, docusign, email)
