New Terrain Grading is seeking a Superintendent. This role is responsible for keeping production levels up on their projects while maintaining project schedule and deadlines as stipulated by the executed contract. This person will work closely with the assigned project team to establish the direction of each project, manage and coordinate the crew's performance, and ensure a safe and quality project is delivered on time and within budget.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Reviews project plans and details for any potential safety risks and constructability issues
Consults with Safety Consultant for issues outside expertise
Oversight of all active jobs (safety, efficiency, scheduling, logistics and quality)
Oversees all facets of the Assistant Superintendents and crews assigned including quality of work
Assist with estimating and preconstruction as needed
Assists Project Manager with updating of schedule
Coordinates Release of Delivery of materials associated with work and other subs as needed when on site
Record daily logs and job site analysis into Procore
Give clear directions to Assistant Superintendent/Crew assigned as to what needs to be done to avoid rework and assigns crew members to daily tasks and equipment
Act as a leader and supervisor
Represent the company along with PM in meetings with owners, clients and sub-contractors
Direct sub-contractors and maintain material inventory
Ensure compliance with company policy and procedure
Perform safety and quality control audits, per company policy
Responsible for all safety enforcement on project per policy
Approve time off requests for Assistant Superintendent and Crew Members
Every Friday by close of business (preferably daily) log into exact time to verify all time charged is accurate in duration and cost code to all jobs assigned
Provide Project Manager with Status Report, weekly
Responsible for the safe operation of equipment and operations on the job site
Implements the project plan as necessary
Ensures equipment hours are recorded on daily reports and accessible for Project Manager
Ensures equipment inspections sheets are filled out daily in Procore
Ensures machines are properly greased daily
Reports maintenance or operation issues with equipment-to-Equipment Division
Fixes minor issues with equipment, where capable, to ensure production goals are met
Maintain receipts for all job-related purchase and turn receipts in to Project Manager
Perform job site hazard analysis every morning with crew before work begins on project
Responsible for maintaining and submitting working hours for themselves and crew members
Handles employee disputes on the jobsite and makes recommendations to General Super for disciplinary action
Serves as the customers point of contact on the job site
Interact with customer, on the job, and resolve any customer issues with J. Davis management
Advises Project Manager/General Super of all equipment needs or breakdowns

Skills and Qualifications:
3+ Years of experience leading civil crews
Understanding of the material, means and methods of grading, road construction, utility construction and equipment operation and maintenance
Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office applications
Familiarity with construction project management software is a plus, but not required
Able to read blueprints and engineered drawings
Ability to operate grading equipment
Ability to operate GPS equipment
Strong written and verbal communication skills that align with core values
