Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Project/Senior Environmental Engineer in our Boise, Idaho office. This position is well-suited for a talented, highly experienced individual who is interested in being a leader and contributing to innovative and challenging projects, including the financial and technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction stages. Our ideal candidate would have project management and design experience in one or more of the following practice areas; site assessment and remediation; water and wastewater system evaluation; treatment and conveyance system design; groundwater management and water supply; contaminant fate and transport; operations and maintenance; and construction management.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntecs culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that youd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks. Some of the key responsibilities may include:
- Managing challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management;
- Task and project management, including planning and implementing projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
- Evaluate treatment system technologies, develop feasibility studies, draft implementation work plans, and develop construction design plans;
- Lead the development of various work plans, data evaluation, and cost-benefit analyses;
- Chemical data and contaminant treatment evaluations;
- Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
- Process engineering design for remediation and water and wastewater treatment systems;
- Developing construction documents, including bid forms and technical specifications;
- Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
- Foster trust-based relationships with clients, regulatory personnel, and other project stakeholders;
- Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
- Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
- At times, job may also include fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling and characterization, contractor/subcontractor oversight, and treatment system operations, maintenance, and construction.
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred). (required)
- Advanced degree (same as above) (preferred)
- Professional registration (i.e., P.E.) (required)
- At least 7 years (8+ years preferred) direct environmental consulting experience in the Western United States; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Detailed understanding of state and federal regulations. (required)
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
- Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients, and leadership skills. (preferred)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
- Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
- Field work and overnight travel may be required.
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
- Valid U.S. drivers license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
