Job Title: Power Generation Project Manager

Client Type: Energy

Location: San Antonio, TX

Onsite expectation: up to 2-3 days per week

Employment type: Contract

Contract Length: 6 months

Rate: $65-75/hr.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Power Generation Project Manager with a leading utilities industry client focused on infrastructure modernization and energy transition. This role involves managing complex power generation projects that support the client's strategic shift toward a more sustainable and reliable energy future. Key initiatives include retiring aging fossil fuel units, integrating renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, deploying energy storage solutions, and exploring innovative technologies like clean hydrogen production. The Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.

Oversee the execution of power generation projects

Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, contractors, and external partners.

Facilitate communication between engineering, procurement, construction, and operations.

Provide regular updates to leadership and ensure alignment with strategic goals.

Engage confidently with VP and C-level stakeholders to communicate project status, align on strategic objectives, and support executive decision-making.

Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

Implement and monitor safety protocols across all project phases.

Coordinate with environmental and permitting teams as needed.

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Conduct quality assurance checks and site inspections.

Ensure adherence to technical specifications and industry standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).

PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.

10+ years of Project Management experience.

5+ years of experience managing power generation or utility infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of conventional power systems and grid integration.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Clarity).

Preferred Experience:

Experience working with utility companies or public energy providers.

Familiarity with permitting processes and environmental impact assessments.
