Multilink Position:
Lead MIG/TIG Welder This position is responsible for leading other team members in the preparation of products made from mild steel, aluminum, or stainless steel up to 1/2” thick using a MIG/TIG welder in accordance with defined guidelines.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Oversee MIG/TIG welding production and adjust workflow to meet production schedule demands at thedirection of supervision.
• Run production as required.
• Accurately post, issue, and receipt production orders as determined by supervision.
• Assist team members in troubleshooting of set ups/production runs.
• Train team members in familiarization of work center processes and best practice procedures.
• Report issues with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to supervision.
• Setup, program-edit and run proficiently the assigned MIG/TIG welding machine.
• Correctly set up tools/fixtures required to produce product in accordance with provided blueprints.
• Ability to demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of weld technique and welding practice.
• Document and report basic material, production and quality control issues to supervision.
• Participate in equipment preventative maintenance/daily maintenance in accordance with defined guidelines.
• Willingness to learn and operate additional equipment as determined by supervision.
• Demonstrate the ability to finish product with grinders, sanders and other various hand tools.
• Ability to interpret blueprints/weld symbols o ascertain product specifications and perform in-process inspections.
• Safely move material using forklift and/or pallet jack.
• Maintain a clean and orderly working area in accordance with defined guidelines.
• Excel in interpersonal/intrapersonal communication with other team members and supervision.
• Promote teamwork, continuous improvement, and adherence to company policies, process, and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
• H.S. Diploma or equivalent may be required.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to interpret blueprints/shop drawing aids.
• Read tape measures, calipers, and other measuring equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively implement change as directed and respond positively.
• Understand/support company policies and procedures.
• Excellent attendance.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
Physical Requirements
• Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 – 50 lbs frequently.
• Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
• Sit, stand and walk for 1 – 10 hours per day
• High mental and visual acuity while in coordination with manual dexterity for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
Work Site Environment
•Ability to work in a 55 – 85-degree Fahrenheit work environment.
