Painter Helper Job Description Join our team as a Painter Helper where you will contribute to the production of custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. You will work in the paint area adjacent to the machine shop, handling painting, powder coating, and spraying of fabricated sheet metal for electrical cabinets. This role requires mixing paint in specified ratios, moving materials, performing odd jobs, and testing paint for appropriate thickness and adherence. Responsibilities Assist in painting, blasting, and prepping parts. Engage in industrial painting tasks within a manufacturing environment. Operate paint sprayers, conduct sanding, and work in a paint booth. Perform powder coating and spray painting of sheet metal. Handle general labor duties as required. Test and ensure paint adherence and thickness meets product specifications. Essential Skills 1+ years of industrial painting experience. Experience in paint preparation, spray gun operation, and sandblasting. Proficiency in using industrial paint, powder coating, and spray painting techniques. Additional Skills & Qualifications Extensive experience with industrial paint and blasting. Familiarity with different epoxys and ability to calculate millage. Work Environment The work environment is a medium-sized, clean, and organized shop with open bay doors and numerous fans. It operates as a busy, fast-paced production facility with approximately 15 people per shift, including machine operators, fabricators, QC, and material handlers. Employees must wear steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. The night shift operates Monday to Friday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with common work hours extending to 50-60 hours per week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr.
