Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is looking for a results-oriented HVAC Technician based in Lyndhurst, VA. This position serves residential and commercial HVAC systems across the region between Harrisonburg and Charlottesville, while also supporting our fabrication shop with electrical work as needed.

Job Role: The HVAC Technician is responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and maintaining HVAC systems while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role involves routine service calls, inspections, and electrical support within the shop environment. On-call responsibilities are required outside regular working hours. The position reports to the Director of Operations.

Key Duties:

• Perform service calls for residential and commercial HVAC systems throughout the local region
• Diagnose and repair HVAC units, ensuring proper functionality and energy efficiency
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems
• Provide electrical support in the fabrication shop when not on service calls
• Troubleshoot electrical issues related to HVAC and facility systems
• Respond to after-hours HVAC service needs as required
• Maintain clear and professional communication with customers
• Follow all safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in HVAC service
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work some Saturdays and overtime
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures and wear required PPE
• Must pass pre-employment and regular drug screening (safety-sensitive position)
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle check
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise).
• Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely.

Preferences:

• Journeyman certification in HVAC
