Assistant Project Manager
Overview
Harper Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our project at Los Angeles Trade Tech College located in Los Angeles, California.

Responsibilities
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the on-site Project Manager with the daily coordination of construction activities. Key responsibilities include:
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, organizing, and staffing field operations.
- Support the development and implementation of project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Attend and document project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Track project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports under the supervision of the Project Manager.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for timely delivery of materials and services.
- Help ensure compliance with safety standards, contract requirements, and DSA guidelines.
- Identify and communicate potential risks, scope changes, or schedule delays to the Project Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support successful project delivery.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer role.
- Exposure to large-scale projects ($25M+) is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction project delivery methods (design-bid-build, design-build).
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- Experience on California public works or K-14 projects under DSA jurisdiction is preferred.
- Understanding of LEED principles; LEED accreditation is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $110,000 to $130,000 annually, plus a monthly auto allowance.
(Compensation will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications.)
