DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Engineering Technician, your primary role will involve offering technical expertise for both DOT-sponsored and locally funded projects related to utility relocation efforts. This position requires you to participate in project scoping sessions, where you will assess potential impacts on utilities and evaluate the necessary coordination efforts. You will work closely with utility companies throughout various stages, including utility clearance, project letting, award processes, and construction, ensuring that all required utility relocations are executed efficiently and that project milestones are achieved.

Additionally, you will be expected to travel to project sites as necessary to perform field assessments and facilitate on-site meetings during both the design and construction phases. Strong networking abilities are crucial, as you will collaborate with project managers and scheduling coordinators to address constructability concerns, focusing on timelines and methodologies in relation to the overall construction schedule.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
