Position Summary:
Responsible for mechanical engineering and design activities related to new and existing products. Works with all departments within the company to ensure that product specifications, performance, durability, quality, cost and manufacturing requirements are met. Participates in conceptualization and design of new products.
Position Responsibilities:
- Initiates preliminary mechanical design concepts with product leadership and aids in establishing product specifications, features and designs.
- Development of new and innovative products, product enhancements or new technologies to meet market needs.
- Plans, designs, implements and executes projects assuring that quality, reliability, serviceability, safety, cost/performance objectives are established and met.
- Ensures that designs meet the mechanical requirements as defined by the customer and any state and federal regulations.
- Participates in design reviews to assure that designs meet required specifications.
- Reviews all mechanical documentation for design feasibility and accuracy.
- Keeps abreast of new design, manufacturing and material development practices.
- Work with suppliers to coordinate prototyping activities and to ensure design expectations are met
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality control and procurement for the implementation of new products
- Supports "Lean Business Enterprise" initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.

Position Requirements (Knowledge and Experience):
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 2-5 years of experience in an engineering design environment, preferably in an industry similar to that of Ergotron
- Technical understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, welding, injection molding, extrusion and casting
- Knowledge of engineering practices and documentation methods including bills of material and engineering change orders
- Self-motivated, creative, and capable of handling and prioritizing multiple projects
- Ability to champion and model behavior reinforcing Ergotron's Core Values
- Must possess a collaborative working style that thrives in a cross-functional team environment
- A track record of high achievement, meeting/exceeding goals, and driving results is required
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to actively listen
- Must have a passion for customer satisfaction and success
- Knowledge of SolidWorks (or other 3D parametric modeling software)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Oracle
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position.

Salary Description
$80,000 - $100,000 + Bonus
