Job Description
Junior Project Manager
Reports to: President &/or General Manager
Hours per week: 45 minimum
A. General Summary of the Position
The Junior Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising on-site activities related to the construction, renovation, and maintenance of agricultural structures, facilities, and material handling systems. This role supports the scheduling and coordination of labor, materials, and equipment between EBM divisions, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution of both long-term construction projects and short-term service or emergency repairs. Additionally, the Junior Project Manager will assist in the day-to-day operations of the construction team, supporting administrative tasks, workflow efficiency, and project logistics.
B. Essential Functions
1. Communicate with foremen, crew members, vendors, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve project issues, clarify scopes, and address complaints.
2. Assist in estimating crew and equipment needs, coordinate scheduling and special equipment requirements.
3. Maintain and update schedules for projects, maintenance, and repair tasks.
4. Prepare budget estimates, monitor costs, submit progress reports, track billing, and manage documentation including change orders.
5. Travel on-site during key project phases to oversee work, provide support, resolve delays, and adjust scheduling.
6. Investigate and resolve accidents, damage, or delays on-site to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
7. Enforce job site safety policies and procedures.
8. Occasionally assist with hands-on tasks involving material handling, lifting (50-90 lbs.), climbing structures, and maneuvering in tight spaces.
C. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
9. Strong understanding of construction processes
10. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
11. Knowledge of project planning, resource allocation, scheduling,
12. Sound judgment, decision-making, and adaptability in high-pressure environments.
13. Excellent customer service orientation and satisfaction tracking.
14. Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
15. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and mobile-based project tools.
16. Physically capable of performing site work, including standing, climbing, lifting, and working in challenging field conditions.
17. Willingness to assist foremen and engage in physical labor when needed.
D. Education, Training, and Experience
18. Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in Project management or an equivalent mix of education and practical experience.
E. Work Context
19. Frequent contact with clients, coworkers, vendors, and contractors via phone, email, and in-person.
20. You must wear standard safety equipment (PPE) and be knowledgeable in crane safety and rigging practices.
21. High-stress tolerance required for fast-paced, loud environments.
F. Special Requirements
22. Valid driver's license.
23. Must pass post-offer physical, drug screening
24. Minimum age: 19 years.
25. Nebraska Class A CDL is a plus
