Manual Machine Operator

The Trident Company has an immediate opening for a Manual Machine Operator in the Tulsa, OK facility. The Manual Machine Operator will set up and operate various manual machines, such as lathes, mills, and grinders, to produce precision mechanical parts. Operate machinery, inspect parts, maintain equipment, and metal products meet quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Positions work pieces for processing.
  • Operates a combination of different machines to process work by cutting, burning, sawing, blasting, shearing, punching, grinding, bending or pressing.
  • Uses gauges, calipers, squares or rulers for measurement.
  • Determines processing specifications such as materials, cutting tools, location of cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances and operational sequences by reviewing blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions or other written specifications.
  • Installs and aligns specified punches, cutting blades or other fixtures in machine bed using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, or hand tools.
  • Adjusts controls to set cutting speed, depth and feed rates; and diagnoses problems and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Performs quality control inspections on finished product; for ISO-certified locations, performs In Process Quality Inspections
  • Coordinates and executes material handling of all inventories to be processed including operation of overhead crane.
  • Performs limited preventative maintenance, such as lubrication, cleaning and changing of parts.
  • May train less experienced workers and perform as lead in absence of group leader.
  • May mark identification on material/work pieces before processing
  • May mark material after processing; store material for additional processing and/or shipping
  • Restocks material.
  • Completes work order paperwork/documentation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Reading and writing ability in English (to read instructions on tickets and cross-reference drawings, safety and policies manuals)
  • Basic measuring skills to read and convert English and Metric systems
  • Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
  • Minimum two (2) years experience as a machine operator
  • Experience operating overhead crane preferred
