We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage retrofit energy conservation construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including subcontractors, clients, and team members.

As a Construction Superintendent on our team, you will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks related to our projects, including assisting in day-to-day operations on the project site and managing control of the short-term schedule. You will assist the team in obtaining, evaluating, and coordinating all information needed to construct the energy efficiency project in accordance with the contract documents and to assure that the work meets all safety standards, and is within scheduled field requirements.

Location: Greater Metro Denver, CO. You are required to be onsite at our client location.

Responsibilities:

Review project specifications to devise construction procedures and technical needs.
Ensure an adequate field workforce through collaboration with subcontractors and clients.
Supervise subcontractors field productivity to align with job cost budgets.
Monitor and coordinate fabrication shop activities, ensuring shipment accuracy.
Provide hands-on assistance at the job site for field crews, optimizing productivity.
Assist project staff in planning work sequences and material needs.
Support installation of various equipment, troubleshooting, and warranty work provided by subcontractors or manufacturers.
Contribute to the development of team members through technical mentoring.
Oversee equipment rentals for optimal utilization.
Schedule, monitor, and address subcontractor progress and performance.
Prepare written daily reports of work performed daily for client review.
Coordinate material and equipment deliveries with subcontractors, and the client as necessary.
Produce updated Project Schedules and 3-week lookaheads to review with Project leadership.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards throughout the construction process.
Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and project managers, to provide updates on project status and address any concerns.
Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and project closeout documents.

Success in this position requires a dynamic individual with high aptitude, energy, and motivation, and an acute passion for managing construction projects related to sustainability/clean energy. Ability to travel to client locations for on-site project activities is necessary. Ability to obtain a range of security clearances is required.

Basic Qualifications:

Associate level technical degree in HVAC/Plumbing preferred
5 years of experience supervising or performing heavy mechanical, electrical and plumbing work to include new construction and retrofit applications such as chiller installation, industrial spec AHU replacement, boiler work, duct demolition and replacement, etc.
Proven experience with construction processes including construction safety, scheduling, contract administration, equipment, workforce management, etc.
Ability to analyze and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and schematics, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and industry standards
Demonstrated ability to lead field construction activities and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive subcontractor and client business relationships.
Exhibit strong verbal, written, computer, and technical communication and presentation skills.
OSHA-30 certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days

Bonus Skills:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
Current or previous journeyman/master electrician certification is a bonus.
Computer software proficiency with Procore or equivalent systems desired.

_ Physical Demands and Work Environment _

Performance of the job responsibilities will require the ability to (1) use tools and operate equipment in the field, (2) ascend/descend both exterior and interior ladders/stairs, and (3) move safely around an area under construction. The employee must also be able to easily communicate with clients, stakeholders, and other employees and observe various pieces of equipment in the field. The employee must occasionally move and/or transport up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction work site where the employee is at risk of moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud. Personal protection equipment and required safety training will be provided by the employer.
