Job Description

As a Construction Manager at Charles Cudd Co., you will be the on-site "face" of our company for our clients and trade contractors. You'll be responsible for interpreting plans and specifications, scheduling, and executing the delivery of multiple custom homes. This role requires effective management of subcontractors and trade partners, maintaining organized and clean job sites, and managing daily project operations to keep costs within budget while delivering a world-class experience to our clients. Callaborating with our internal team to ensure our process is as efficient as possible.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and supervise all construction activities on multiple new construction projects simultaneously

- Direct field personnel to achieve project completion on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship conforming to plans and specifications

- Create and maintain construction schedules; identify and solve problems related to maintaining construction schedules

- Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process

- Understand project plans and specifications for each home build

- Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and the Charles Cudd Co. team

- Work with project management software Buildertrend, calendar systems, and document project progress in company systems

- Manage sub-contractor relationships, including monitoring and controlling performance, quality, and schedule adherence

- Monitor project expenditures, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to meet construction budgets

- Provide daily and weekly progress reports for each project to project team

- Maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other employees

- Prepare schedules and supervise completion of home delivery program

- Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately

- Maintain a visibly organized and clean job site

- Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for client and trade expectations

- Facilitate milestone project meetings and Bi-weekly updates with all clients at a minimum

Qualifications

- Strong organizational skills

- Excellent written and oral communication skills with effective listening abilities

- Comfortable managing upwards to provide constructive feedback on company process improvement

- Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions in a timely manner

- Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills

- Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Confident and hardworking

Required Skills

- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing custom or volume homebuilding, or equivalent experience

- Project management expertise in custom home building preferred

- Proficiency in project management software and documentation systems

- Strong leadership and team management abilities

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications

- Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices
