Overview -

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support refinery capital projects, maintenance, and infrastructure initiatives. This role involves planning, designing, and overseeing civil and structural engineering work for industrial facilities, with a focus on safety, compliance, and long-term reliability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil/structural engineering within a refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environment and will play a key role in multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide civil and structural engineering support for capital projects, site upgrades, and routine maintenance.
  • Develop engineering specifications, design criteria, and construction scopes of work.
  • Review and approve drawings, calculations, and designs from contractors or internal teams.
  • Perform field investigations and site assessments to support design and construction planning.
  • Ensure all engineering work complies with industry standards, applicable codes, and site-specific requirements.
  • Interface with project managers, operations, maintenance, and external contractors to ensure alignment on deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and assist in resolving engineering issues during design and construction.
  • Support permitting, environmental compliance, and risk mitigation efforts as needed.
  • Contribute to long-term facility planning and reliability improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required; PE license preferred.
  • Minimum 510 years of experience in civil/structural engineering, with at least 3 years in a refinery, petrochemical plant, or heavy industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., API, ACI, ASCE, IBC).
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel, concrete, foundations, drainage, and site development.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis software.
  • Ability to work in an operating refinery environment, including field visits and construction oversight.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
