Operate overhead and mobile cranes. Should be able to operate remotes for moving hoists on bridges, also be able to operate attached cab when needed. These operations are guided by a response to ground signals to lift, move, lower and position aircraft, large aircraft assemblies, and heavy machinery, dies and jigs. Works in various areas where continuous concentration and skillful operation of controls are required to safely, properly and precisely place and/or mate subject load. Takes the following steps for load transport operations; determines, selects, secures and adjusts suitable type and quantity of lifting and securing devices, i.e., slings, hooks, cables, etc.; insures that load's weight limits and clearances are properly observed; assures that proper and safe balance of load are achieved through uniform tension and even weight distribution; aligns load to facilitate precise positioning or mating; directs or guides load movements for equipment, load and personnel safety; inspects cables, slings, hooks, etc. as required. Must be able to rig various objects to establish CG (Center of Gravity).
Heights: Able to work at heights. Able to climb stairs or ladders as required. Able to work off step stools, scissor lifts, lift platforms and aircraft structure without handrails.Experience operating mobile and overhead cranes, and the ability to follow and give Standard Crane Signals. Be able to inspect rigging for discrepancies and correct as needed. Understand mobile crane lifting capacities and equipment tolerances.
Experience with Rigging and executing lifts in close tolerance situations.Experience lifting high value payloads and or aircraft assemblies in a close tolerance manufacturing environment.
Familiar with manufacturing related safety protocols
Has an understanding of FOD and its impact in an aeronautics environment.
Extensive experience and knowledge of operating a wireless remote.
