Job Summary:

Join us and play a key role in bringing projects to life. You’ll be out in the field visiting job sites, observing construction firsthand, and leading on-site meetings. Back in the office, you’ll keep projects moving by documenting progress through detailed field reports, capturing meeting minutes, and ensuring the smooth flow of construction information.

With Salas O’Brien often serving as the prime designer, you’ll be at the forefront of both design and construction services—coordinating teams, facilitating communication, and helping deliver exceptional results from concept to completion.

In this role, you will:

• Attend project transition, pre-construction, and construction meetings
  Conduct site visits to monitor progress, workmanship, quality, and compliance with contract documents
• Track and manage RFIs, change orders, and scope changes, ensuring timely responses and up-to-date project status
• Maintain thorough project documentation, including field reports, as-built drawings, and change records
• Coordinate with contractors and engineers to address deficiencies, correct discrepancies, and certify pay applications
  Oversee project closeout, including final inspections, punch lists, and collection of required closeout documents

Skills/abilities:

• Settle disputes, handle complaints, resolve grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiate with others
• Cooperate and coordinate with other members of your team, architects and owners
• Direct others and respond constructively to direction
• Recognize ways to adjust one’s actions to lower costs for the firm
• Demonstrate knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in construction
• Demonstrate knowledge of the construction industry in relation to costing/scheduling

You will be a great fit if:

• You have 5 plus years of related experience in a consulting engineering environment

Location : Lafayette, LA
Travel : 80% within a 1-2 Hour Radius of Lafayette, LA
